John Schmidt, VP Commercial & Ag Lending, Branch Manager

I’ve been in banking for the past 16 years and started with consumer lending and added commercial lending and agricultural lending later. I now manage the Alliance Bank Hanska location and oversee all banking functions of the branch. Since this is a smaller community, the job comes with a variety of tasks that makes every day different than the last and keeps things interesting.

 

For mortgage lending, I help customers whether they want to build their retirement or dream home, or even purchase their first home. Our online application makes it so much easier for our customers than in the past. Users can fill out the application from the convenience of their home, and if they have questions, I can assist over the phone while they are still working on the application.

 

What I enjoy most about banking is helping our customers achieve their goals. Whether it’s a business or a farmer wanting to become more profitable, or a mortgage customer wanting their perfect home, I can help get them there.
